This conversation guide provides information for nominated supervisors in the effective management, discussion and planning of staff member’s annual and long service leave.
The guide includes a range of Template Letters which can be used to assist with managing and planning for leave, each of which can be downloaded in Word Document format below:
Template A: For use when an Academic staff member has 20 days annual leave or less not taken or booked for calendar year.
Template B: For use when a staff member has accrued annual leave of 30 days and will have 40 days within 6 months
Template C: For use when a staff member has accrued annual leave greater than 40 days (Letter 1)
Template D: For use when a staff member has accrued annual leave greater than 40 days and staff member has not provided a leave plan or discussed with their nominated supervisor (Letter 2)
Template E: For use to advise a staff member of their Long Service Leave Eligibility
Template F: For use when a staff member's Long Service Leave is in excess of 9 weeks and they have an option to cash out part of their Long Service Leave
Template G: For use when a staff member's Long Service Leave is in excess of 16 weeks (LSL Letter 1)
Template H: For use when a staff member's Long Service Leave is in excess of 16 weeks and has not reduced as described in preceding letter (LSL Letter 2)
Template I: For use when both Annual Leave balance is in excess of 40 days and Long Service Leave balance is in excess of 16 weeks
