Consultations with Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs)
ACU communicates and consults with Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) about Work Health and Safety (WHS) issues that impact upon staff within their workgroup. Staff members can also participate in these two-way conversations by contacting their HSR about WHS issues which affect their workgroup. If any of these issues could result in an injury or illness, a report of a hazard should be logged within riskware.
HSR’s Contributions to WHS Committees
HSRs and WHS Committee Members typically attend quarterly campus, WHS Committee meetings. During these and other consultations with ACU’s management representatives, HSRs review WHS issues and provide feedback to the University which reflects the views and interests of their workgroup. In comparison, WHS Committee Members provide feedback about the University’s WHS Management System and issues from a campus -wide perspective.
Submit an Expression of Interest in Becoming a HSR
Staff members are invited to submit an Expression of Interest in becoming a HSR and representing one of the workgroups on the North Sydney, Strathfield and Brisbane campuses.
